The smoke created an spooky scene at north gate entrance into Lake Pueblo State Park around 5 p.m. About 10,000 acres have burned in Hayden Pass in Salida as the raging fire is 0 percent contained, Kyle Sullivan, a spokesman for the Bureau of Land Management Front Range District, said at a Monday evening news conference. The fire has at least doubled in size since Sunday, but air crews have not been able to estimate its size since 10 a.m. Monday, Sullivan said. Residents in the Fox Creek subdivision area on County Road 40 and County Road 6, just south of County Road 45, have been placed on mandatory evacuation, Sullivan said.
