Pappas resigns from D70 board
Pueblo County District 70 school board member Sally Pappas resigned her seat on the board Wednesday, effective immediately.
Pappas, who was elected to the board in 2011, said she “regretfully was resigning from the board because she is moving to Parker to be closer to family.
The school board is expected to vote on her resignation at the Aug. 20 board meeting,
Pappas was elected in 2011 and was in the middle of her first term.
Pappas’ vacancy will require the board to appoint a replacement within 60 days of accepting Pappas’ resignation.
The appointee will serve the rest of her term, which expires in 2013.
If the board does not appoint a replacement in 60 days, then state law allows for the board president to appoint a new member.
