There are lots of changes at Sierra Vista Elementary School, most notable is all the construction.

The seven-classroom addition is moving along and the school should start seeing them and the front entrance take shape very quickly now that the ground work and foundations are complete.

Inside the school is enjoying the new doorways — no doors yet, but soon.

New staff members joined the school, including the following:

• Michelle Sutton - 1st grade

• Cassandra Hardy - 4th grade

• Ashley Knuth - 3rd grade

• Amanda Schoolland - Music

• Patti Zielinski - Early Childhood ESS

• Kayla Potter - Para

• Brandy Gomez - Kindergarten

The challenge this year will be to maintain excellent scores and performance through all of the changes.

The kids and the community have been absolutely awesome and have been incredibly flexible and understanding about all of the changes during construction.
