SHUTDOWN: Courts should not be affected

The potential of a government shutdown isn’t expected to impact the judicial districts in Colorado.

Chief Judge Deborah Eyler, of Pueblo’s 10th Judicial District, said Monday that while there may be some federal money that comes to the Colorado Judicial Branch and eventually trickles down to the districts, a shutdown isn’t likely to hurt Pueblo.

Rob McCallum, spokesman for the Colorado Judicial Department, said that the state doesn’t anticipate any problems with its grant status nor any impacts to the department.
