Whether you’re new to Pueblo West and want to learn about a variety of businesses, or you’ve been here for years and might be looking for something particular, the Pueblo West Business Expo and Health Fair is the place to be.
Put on by the Pueblo West Chamber of Commerce, the expo and health fair on Oct. 9 provides a one-stop shop for local businesses and organizations to reach community members and do some network.
A few years ago, the health fair component was added to the expo to help reach more community members.
Parkview Medical Center is the major sponsor of the event, and nurses provide a number of free routine health screenings, and participants can get their seasonal flu shot at the health fair as well.
“I feel this is a great benefit to our business community to get exposure in the community as a whole,” said Shauna Boyd, president of the Pueblo West Chamber of Commerce.
“But now, with Parkview’s participation, it’s an opportunity to come in and do the health screenings and flu shots too and then take in information about all the local businesses.
Expo vendors are varied – everything from banks to the medical field, local businesses, Swallows Charter Academy, Pueblo Community College and more will be represented.
“In the past, we’ve had usually 40-50 groups there,” Boyd said.
“Not everyone is a Chamber member, but we’ll well-represented.
“We encourage everyone to have a booth and get their name out there in the community and do some networking.”
The expo is from 2 to 7 p.m. Oct. 9, at the Eagles’ building at 348 S. McCulloch Blvd.
Boyd said the Chamber’s monthly business networking event will be held in conjunction, so from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
There also will be snacks and drinks available.
The deadline to apply for a booth is Oct. 4.
Call the Chamber at 647-9086 for an application or with any questions about the expo.
