While much of the northern part of Colorado was drenched in rain Wednesday and Thursday, causing significant flash flooding, Pueblo received just modest amounts of moisture.
Enough rain did fall in town Wednesday night and early Thursday morning to cause a couple of flooding situations.
Pueblo County was under a flash flood warning for much of Wednesday night.
Water flowed over Siloam Road and Red Creek Springs Road West in Pueblo County overnight.
“There was standing water when the road and bridge crew went out there,” Lisa Shorter, public information officer for the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, said.
Red Creek Springs Road West was closed overnight Thursday due to the standing water. Siloam Road reopened Thursday.
“People in that area expect flooding whenever it rains, the way the water crosses there,” Shorter said.
According to the National Weather Service, 3 inches of rain fell in the Rye and Colorado City areas as of Thursday evening.
In Pueblo only trace amounts of rain were registered, according to the NWS.
Today will be a bit drier but scattered thunderstorms in the area still are expected, according to the NWS.
