SonRise fall festival
SonRise Church, 421 E. Spaulding Ave., will host a fall festival from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The event will feature a wide variety of locally made crafts, candies and baked goods including pumpkin and pecan pies. Lunch items also will be available for sale.

Holiday in Lights Parade
The Pueblo West Chamber of Commerce will present its annual Holiday in Lights Parade at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 1.
This year's theme is Bright Lights, Cool Nights. The parade route begins at the intersection of Palmer Lake and Joe Martinez boulevards and ends at Civic Center Drive.
There will be a bonfire and a community tree lighting with free cocoa, apple cider and cookies after the parade.
Parade entry applications are availabe at PostNet (in the Safeway shopping center), the Pueblo West Metropolitan District office (109 E. Industrial Blvd.) and at the chamber office (at Classic Auto on Spaulding Avenue).

Turkeys needed
LUV in Action, a Pueblo West-based ministry for the poor, needs 40 turkeys to include in Thanksgiving food baskets for families in need countywide.

Call 647-6321 for more information. Library groundbreaking A groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the beginning of a $6 million expansion of the White Branch Library (298 S. Joe Martinez Blvd.) will begin at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow. The public is invited.
The event will include remarks by County Commissioner Anthony Nunez, library district board president Joyce Vigil, metro district board chairman Butch Batchelder and School District 70 Superintendent Dan Lere.
The Prairie Winds Elementary School choir will provide musical entertainment, and representatives from Prairie Winds and several other schools will present library officials with money they have collected to help finance the project. Parenting classes CSU Extension - Pueblo County is taking registrations for the following parenting classes:
- Children in the Middle - Divorce education for divorced or divorcing parents, Dec. 10-13.
- Toddler to Pre-teen, Rethink Anger Management and Raising a Secure Child.

Parkview recognized Parkview Homecare has been named a Homecare Elite agency by Outcome Concepts Systems, which designates the top 100 home care agencies in the nation each year.
Parkviews service was one of 28 nationwide that made the top 100 list two years in a row.
The assessment is based on a study of 9,000 Medicare-certified agencies.
The study is based on publicly available data from Home Health Compare and the CMS Cost Reports that cover quality of care, quality improvement and financial performance. Holiday show on ice The Pueblo Figure Skating Club will present its 32nd annual holiday exhibition, Cartoon Christmas, at 7 p.m. Nov. 23 and 2 p.m. Nov. 24 and 25 at Pueblo Plaza Ice Arena, 100 N. Grand Ave. in Pueblo.
Advance tickets, available now at the ice arena, are $5 for adults, $4 for children ages 2-12. Children younger than 2 are admitted free. Tickets will cost $1 more at the door on performance days.
The skaters in the show range in age from 6- 70-plus and many live in Pueblo West. The event is sanctioned by United States Figure Skating and will feature Eric Reinhart, a U.S. Junior Figure Skating champion.
The public is invited to skate free with the cast for one hour following each show in recognition of National Figure Skating Week.

Free cancer screenings
The Women's Wellness Connection, through Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, offers free breast and cervical cancer screenings to low-income, uninsured and underinsured women.
Mammograms are offered to qualified women 50 and older, and to women between the ages of 40-49 who have a direct family history of breast cancer or who are symptomatic.

GOP women meeting
The Bel Nor Republican Women will install new officers during the November dinner meeting, beginning at 6 p.m. Friday at La Renaissance restaurant in Pueblo. New officers will be sworn in by Pueblo County Republican Party Chairman Dave Dill.

Amateur radio exam
The Pueblo Ham Club will conduct an amateur radio exam from 2-4 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Robert Hoag Rawlings Public Library, 100 E. Abriendo Ave. in Pueblo.

Interested individuals must own at least two acres of land. Nursery stock must not be used in ornamental or landscaping plantings. No plant purchased from the CSFS may be resold.
Bare root trees are available in multiples of 50 per species. Potted trees are available in multiples of 30 per species.

Sunday C.C. Turner Music Ministries will present a Brand New Life! concert during morning worship service Sunday at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 10 University Circle in Pueblo. The service begins at 10:15 a.m. and the public is welcome. Civil Air Patrol The Civil Air Patrol offers men, women and young adults (ages 12-18) challenging opportunities in an awards-based, multi-level program that includes leadership training, technical education and an opportunity to participate in aviation-related activities.
The Civil Air Patrol also offers chaplain and aerospace education memberships. New members are always welcome.
Meetings are every Thursday starting at 6:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory, Acero and Mesa avenues in Pueblo (near the State Fairgrounds).

4-H holiday craft sale
The annual Canon City 4-H holiday craft sale will run from noon to 8 p.m. Nov. 20 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 1 in the 4-H Building at the rodeo grounds off South Ninth Street and Poplar Avenue.
Homemade chili, soups, cinnamon rolls and sticky buns will be for sale, along with a wide assortment of crafts. Vendor spaces are available.
