Tight budget given as the reason for the cancellation.

A tighter budget and a change in scheduling has prompted Colorado State University-Pueblo to cancel its annual Fourth of July concert and fireworks show.
The fireworks show, which attracted thousands to the university every July 4, was started in the mid-1990s as a benefit for the Pueblo community.
The program began as a partnership with the Pueblo Symphony Orchestra as part of the annual Colorado Music Fest.
In recent years, the Pueblo Symphony has opted to perform at the Rollin' on the RiverWalk festival on the weekend prior to the holiday. CSU-Pueblo hosted its concert and fireworks show on July 4.
Last year, the symphony held the concert on July 4, prompting the university to change its event to July 3.
In an effort to not compete with other Independence Day events this year, the university has decided to cancel its program.
Also contributing to the decision to cancel the event is the tighter budget the university is faced with this year.
University officials have said they will focus on financing programs that are of direct benefit to the students.
