Chamber hosts holiday prize hunt

In an effort to make the holidays a little more fun and to acquaint Pueblo West residents with some of the local businesses, the Pueblo West Chamber of Commerce is holding a holiday prize hunt.
The rules are simple. Clues for the grand prize will be available at participating Pueblo West businesses. But first, prize hunters must figure out clues as to which businesses are participating.
The first list of clues as to the participating businesses is in this week's edition of The View. A second set of clues will be listed in next week's View.
Local businesses are donating goods and services to add to the total prize, which already has exceeded $500 and is growing.
The prize hunt was the brainchild of chamber member Judy Leonard, a staffer at the Pueblo West Metropolitan District office.
"A lot of people don't know what's available, right here in Pueblo West," Leonard said. "The idea is to make it fun for them to find out what kind of goods and services local businesses in Pueblo West offer."
Employees at participating businesses are not eligible for the contest.
PW HOLIDAY PRIZE HUNT
The first installment of clues to businesses where prize clues can be found.
- Pretend you're a Santa sleigh and send your packages the best way.
- Have some coffee and a donut, too, this will soon be the place for you.
- Rags to riches is the place, all sizes of cloth will fill your bags.
- Heating and cooling is their game, sheet metal, gas lines, it's all the same.
- Gold and silver brightens the way, buy some, wear some to make your day.
- My business is a place of wonder and repair, with other items for you to stare, punch my keys and you'll be there
- In my name I may sound poor, serving food and a bar, stop by in your car.
- Need repairs, don't despair, we can fix it while you wait, set up an appointment and make a date.
