Panel to name interim leader
Progress of bond projects also to be discussed
The Pueblo County District 70 school board is scheduled to appoint an interim principal for Beulah School of Natural Sciences at tonight’s meeting.
The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Administrative Services Center, 301 28th Lane. A work session is scheduled immediately after the regular meeting.
The vacancy at Beulah is expected to be filled just in time for students to return to classes for the fall semester.
Classes begin in District 70 on Monday.
The vacancy at Beulah was created in late spring, when former principal Angie Fillmore was appointed principal at Vineland Elementary School.
Fillmore replaces Beverly Maestas, who had been serving as principal at both Vineland Elementary and Vineland Middle schools.
Maestas will remain principal at Vineland Middle.
In other action, the board is scheduled to act on several personnel changes including resignations and assignments.
Ryan Elarton, director of business services, and Monte Montez, construction manager for district bond projects, will give a report on the district’s bond projects.
At the work session, the board will review changes to policies regarding teacher displacement, evaluation of administrative staff, instructional staff reduction in force and staff conduct.
