SEIA donates to Rotary
San Isabel Electric Association announced its sponsorship of the 2014 Annual Pueblo West Rotary Golf Tournament. The announcement was made at the Rotary Club’s weekly meeting on June 4.
Golfers tee’d it up for the tournament on June 7, at the Desert Hawk golf course.
As the clubs’ primary fundraiser, a successful gold tournament is critical to the mission of the club.
Funds raised from the event are used for educational scholarships and other Rotary program.
This year, funds from the tournament will also be used to support the installation of a disc golf course at the Civic Center Park.
Chad Heberly, President of the Pueblo West Rotary Club, was pleased with the announcement, commenting on the electric cooperative’s lasting support of the service organization for many years.
“The Rotary appreciates San Isabel’s support, not only of the tournament but also for all they do to contribute to the betterment of Pueblo West,” said Heberly.
SIEA Board Directors’ Jack Johnston and Debbie Rose were on hand for the check presentation. “The Pueblo West Rotary Club has always been a leader in promoting the spirit of community. The fact they have committed San Isabel’s donation to help fund a first-ever frisbee course is a testament to that leadership and their commitment to improving the quality of life in Pueblo West,” said Johnston.
The Rotary meets every Wednesday at 7 a.m. at Gabby’s Diner located at 412 S. McCulloch Blvd. To learn more about the activities of this organization visit www.pueblowestrotary.org.
