State closes Pueblo West dispensary for violations
The owner of a Pueblo West marijuana dispensary said he will cooperate with authorities after the state suspended some of his business privileges.
Hank Borunda of the Greener Side West said he takes the matter seriously and will work with the state’s Marijuana Enforcement Division.
According to the Department of Revenue, Borunda was notified May 16 of a summary suspension. The DOR said the dispensary failed to establish and activate a required system for keeping track of inventory.
“Our goal is 100 percent compliance with all rules and regulations and we are working ... to accomplish that goal,” Borunda wrote Thursday in a statement to KRDO NewsChannel 13.
It’s unclear when the dispensary will reopen.
Earlier this year in a separate case, two employees were cited by the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office for smoking marijuana on the premises.
