Coloring art at PW Library
Get ready to color a custom picture by a local Pueblo West artist through one of two different activities at the Pueblo West Library.
Artist Daniela Bogart will host two activities in January, featuring her custom-designed coloring pictures and cards. One activity is for all ages, the other for 21 and over.
The first is Café Crafts: The Art of Coloring, on Jan. 11. This activity is open to all ages, from 3:30-6 p.m. Everything needed to color one of Bogart’s pictures or cards will be provided in a fun and relaxed coloring atmosphere.
The second activity is Coloring, Chianti and Conversation, on January 13 beginning at 6 p.m. This is for ages 21 and over, and registration is required. Create a work of art while enjoying wine and appetizers.
The $25 registration fee covers everything needed to create a beautiful coloring picture and to take home one of Bogart’s custom-designed coloring books for adults. Participants are invited to bring a drink or appetizer to share with others.
Bogart created the “Fun and fanciful coloring book for when you’re feeling grown up” full of her own art to color. She said she hopes it “gives you as much happiness coloring as it did for me to create it.”
Bogart was born in Toronto, Canada, but moved to south Florida as a child. She said her childhood “became the beach and the myriad colors of the tropics. The sun is intense, it makes your life and your surroundings bright, positive and colorful.”
She said her childhood forever influenced her art and she has a love for all things full of color. She’s created coloring books for adults that reflect her passion for drawing and color. Each image starts as a pencil drawing on large watercolor paper, and once the idea is conceptualized, it is rendered in ink.
“Every detail is produced by hand, which I feel creates a personal connection, shares my inspiration and projects my artistic joy,” she said.
