Walk Your Dog Hike in June

One more time this spring, the Mountain Park Environmental Center offer a Walk Your Dog Hike for all hikers who want to bring your dog along, with the added bonus of healthy treats for your pooch.

Zuke’s June Walk Your Dog Hike is at 10 a.m. June 1.

Dogs must be leashed.

Family Day at Challenge Course

Experience the Mountain Park’s Environmental Center’s newly completed low challenge course with your family and friends. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 7 in Beulah.

You will have exciting, team building adventures as you work through the different elements on our course. See first hand how our challenge course and enjoy its beautiful forested location.

Full Moon Music Hike set June 13

Enjoy a magical evening excursion as day becomes night hiking under the “Strawberry Moon” with a mini folk concert along the trail .... truly a delightful experience at 7 p.m. June 13 in Beulah.

Hearty Eating on the Trail

If you like hiking and are into healthy nutritious tasty food, then this class on hearty eating on the trail is for you.

There is no need to go bland or boring when preparing meals on the trail.

Come join us and learn about simple ways of drying food in your oven, creating tasty (light weight) trail meals, making your own granola and protein cookies from 1 to 4 p.m. June 14 in Beulah.

June Nature Toddlers

Being outdoors with young children and babies during the cool days of winter is healthy for both parents and young ones at 2 p.m. June 14 and at 10 a.m. June 20 in Beulah.

At Nature Toddlers we enjoy being outside to play games, learn songs and explore what is happening on the forest floor.

Birding Hike

Pueblo Mountain Park is breeding habitat for many birds, and we will be up early with the birds, looking – and listening – for them at 8 a.m. June 14.

Bring along your field guides and your binoculars if you have them – if not, you can use ours.

Summer Solstice Drum Circle

Acknowledge the transition from spring to summer at this informal gathering around the fire circle from 6:30 to 8 p.m. June 20 in Beulah. 

Summer drum circles at MPEC are especially fun as this is a great excuse to drive out of the heat of the prairie towns and bring a summer picnic, meet friends and give the kids time in the summer fading light.

Celebrate the arrival of summer hiking along the trails of Pueblo Mountain Park at 9 a.m. June 21.

South Creek Hike a tradition

Join MPEC’s annual June tradition of hiking the South Creek Trail from Highway 165 back to the park at 8 a.m. June 22.

This will be a full-day excursion in the southern-most drainage of the Scraggy Peaks Roadless Area.

Be sure to bring lunch, snacks, plenty of drinking water, and dress for the weather (be prepared for rain).

We’ll meet at MPEC and carpool to the trailhead.
